Jan and I are spending Christmas in Ohio which started with our arrival last Thursday Night. Everything was going good until the weather decided last night to take a down turn. It was a -6 degrees wind chill. That was awful. Today it hit a big high of 10, then doubled to 20 degrees by 11:00 or so. I think that is the high for the day.
Other than that things are good, we'll be here until Friday morning when we'll be heading back to Greenville.
Jan's big day for the test is Dec. 30th. Pray for her all that morning, she'll be fine but I can imagine the stress for such a big test. From there we hope the work will begin sometime in mid to late January.
Hope everyone has a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.

Good Morning
hey guys, jan is probably currently studying for boards not that she is finished with clinicals. Graduation is next friday, December 5th. Exciting times for the Batson household. Family is coming in and we get to go to Charleston again.
I'm just taking it easy during my planning period. Two day week for me isn't too bad.
Jan is planning to take boards the week before Christmas, if all goes well she should be able to start her job by mid-January maybe.
Other than that, house plans is all that is on tap for the holidays. Hope to hear from everyone soon.

Got to Visit Charleston
This past weekend Jan and I went down to Charleston. It was nice to see the area for the first time since late July for me. Jan had since been down for a few things for school, in fact she was living down there until about 4 weeks ago. The only problem with the visit is I only stayed 26 total hours. But getting away was good. I got to chit chat with several friends we hadn't seen in a while.
We're excited because the weekend of Nov. 7th, we're planning to go down for the whole weekend. Hope everyone has a great week.

finally alive again
Just wanted to let everyone know Jan and I are now united again. We are both living with my parents in Greenville. I am busy going through another football season at Riverside High and Jan is finishing up clinicals. She has i think 8 weeks left. We are counting the days down until December 5th, her graduation.
Over the next month or so, I'll be finishing up football season and Jan and I are getting serious about finding a place to live in Greenville.

Myrtle Beach Vacation with the In-Laws
Jan and I are spending this week with her family down here at Myrtle Beach. I wanted to post a few pictures up here so everyone could see the family. The weather is blazing hot and humid but Jan and I are trying to relax and work on our tans before we get back to the grind. I plan to post a few more later in the week.

Jan's TV Debut
Jan and I got stopped in the Wal-mart parking lot yesterday and was questioned for some story that was being done on South Carolina being gay friendly, the local NBC station was doing the story. We honestly had no idea what they were/are talking about but Jan felt bad for Octavia Mitchell so she reluctantly volunteered to do a quick interview. Click or copy this link and hit video and the story should come up.

Cabo San Lucas Trip
I finally got to a decent internet service so I can post some pictures of our Cabo Trip. It was beautiful and we had a great time with Jan's sister Jill and her husband Jonathan. Cabo is basically at the southern tip of the Baja Peninsula. Beautiful beaches with great fishing, waters sports, sun, some great golf along with many other things. We did a lot of relaxing in the sun, eating including a dinner cruise, parasailing, and some snorkling and swimming in the freezing cold water. It is a great place to visit and we hope to one day go back. More pictures will be posted later when I get the other ones from my brother in law.

Happy birthday Jan

Pretty busy couple of weeks through the first official couple of weeks of my summer break. I've been up in Greenville up until this past weekend. Jan and I were able to take a much needed trip to Ohio last weekend to see her family. I've been getting to know my players at the new school Riverside and Jan was finishing up her rotation in Walterboro up until this point. This past weekend we were able to catch up with our friends Sam and Molly Fromille who were down visiting and that was also great. They should have some pics up this week. Check their link out from our page. Last night Jan and I finally took the dinner cruise out of Charleston that we've been wanting to do since we've been here and it was a very good time with great food. I put a couple of pics from the trip last night. Jan turns 31 today so that was part of her birthday. She and I are leaving this saturday for a week in Cabo San Lucas Mexico with her sister and husband. So I'll update on how that goes with some pics. Have a great week.

From there, I'm back and forth from Greenville to Charleston. Spending a lot of time getting to know the players and coaches at my new school, Riverside. This past weekend Jan and i spent some time at the beach since our weeks together here are numbered. Sunday was spend washing our vehicles for the first time in who knows when. Jan continues her hour long drive to Walterboro this week to her newest clinical site. Have a great week! Brad and Jan

Big Changes Coming

To catch some of you up...After living in the upstate for our first 5 years of marraige, Jan and I have been living in Charleston for the past two years. Two years ago Jan got into MUSC down here for Nurse Anethesia. Charleston is a great place, but Jan graduates in December and will be taking a job in Greenville that is too good to turn up right now, so we are moving. I will be going up this summer, and Jan will be moving in December after she graduates.
I have landed a job at Riverside High in Greenville so I'll be coaching football there this fall as well as teaching something in Social Studies. As usual, God has worked it all out.
In the meantime, Jan will be finishing up here clinical rotations throughout the state and we'll be enjoying our last full weeks together in Charleston. We'll also have a condo that will be on the market soon if you know anyone who'd like to buy it! :)
Lastly, Jan and I have found a great church down here called Seacost Church. It has several campuses throughout NC, SC, and GA so maybe it'll all work out and we'll end up at there Greenville campus. Everyone should check it out sometime. Only time will tell. Well this is getting long, so I'll sign off for now.
